On Saturday evening I got an opportunity to volunteer some of my free time to help raise funds for The Reach For A Dream Foundation, an organisation that helps realise children’s dreams. These children, between the ages of 3 and 18 have life threatening illnesses and having their dreams realised helps bring hope, joy and healing to these children and their families and gives them the strength to continue to fight these life-threatening illnesses such as muscular dystrophy, cancer, cystic fibrosis, leukemia and renal failure to name just a few.
I have been very blessed to be apart of this organisation over the last year in helping these dreams come true for these beautiful children and there is nothing that beats that smile that breaks out on a childs face when they realise their dreams are coming true and for a day their lives are filled with magical things that dreams are made of…
As we raised funds we also got to ask people to write down their dreams and pin them up on a dream wall. I really loved this part because as I am sure most of you have come to know over the last year as I shared my life on my blog, I love to dream. I love to dream big and wild and as expansive as I can. So today I am sharing with you some dreams of people, people just like you and me…

Over the course of the evening, I read the dreams already up on the wall and the dreams that people were sharing with us. I smiled hugely as I came across two dreams people had pinned up on the wall before I got there. They were “Hot air balloon over the Serengeti” and “Climb Kilimanjaro”. I smiled to myself as I realised these were my dreams too and just last year I got to see both of them come true! You see it doesn’t matter how big or small your dream is, what is important is just that you dream. For everything I have been blessed enough to do, I always started out with the dream not knowing how I was going to achieve it or where the money to do it was going to come from. But that is what I learnt. All you have to do is dream of the end result. Believe it with every fibre of your being and put it out there to the universe. Think about, write it down, envision it. Feel what it feels like to be in that moment. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I envisioned standing on top of Kilimanjaro feeling every feeling I imaged possible as to what it must feel like to reach the top. For you see you don’t have to worry yourself with the finer little details of how, just believe that it is possible, for the universe will conspire in every way to bring that dream to fruition ~ all you have to do is believe.
It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting. Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we have learned as we have moved toward that dream. ~ Paulo Coelho
