“To live content with small means,
to seek elegance rather than luxury
and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable,
and wealthy, not rich;
to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart;
to study hard, to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently,
await occasions, hurry never in a word,
to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through the common
This is my symphony…”

Finding Richness in the Struggle

I watched this video in the early hours of this morning as I lay in the dark waiting for my alarm to sound. It is a powerfully inspiring short story by Cory Richards, a National Geographic Creative photographer.

His story is about so many things, searching for your place in the world, doing what you love, facing adversity, finding richness in the struggle, triumphing, growing, learning, surviving, laughing, sharing, along with so much more, all rolled into one. I was moved to tears at the point where the Cory turns the camera on himself. I’ve experienced that before, facing death, and that split second of a moment when you realise that you are still alive. It’s beyond powerful.

Cory shares his experiences about finding meaning in this big, very confusing world and discovering what it means to hurt. What it means to triumph and what it means to be human.

This video is powerful.

This video is inspiring.

I get it ALL!

I hope you get something from it too.
